drawing of foot length measurement using paper and pen against a wall

For accurate foot length measurement we recommend following these 3 steps.

step 01: Put a piece of blank paper under your feet. Stand up straight and have your heel lightly touching against the wall.

step 02: Have someone mark the end of the longest toe on the sheet with a pen or pencil. Afterwards measure the distance from the end of the page to the mark on the paper.

step 03: Repeat the steps for your other foot and compare it with our size chart.

*In our size chart, your shoe size corresponds to a mondo point. The mondo point is an international sizing scale used for ski boots. It has about a 1cm difference between each size. The mondo size of the boot that corresponds with your US size should give you a comfortable fit. If you prefer a tighter fit and want a quicker response from your boots, and/or have a narrower foot we recommend going down a size. We always recommend consulting with a bootfitter to help you decide what works best for you.

example: Jordan has measured their feet and found that the left foot is 252mm long, while the right foot is 254mm. Knowing that they generally prefer their boots to fit tightly, they use the length of their shorter foot, 252mm, as a reference for choosing their ski boot size. Consulting the phaenom size chart, Jordan can select between a 25/.5 for a comfort fit or a 24/.5 for a performance fit. Given that they ski more than 30 days a season and their feet are on the narrower side, they decide to go with the performance fit at size 24/.5. This choice ensures a snug fit, minimizing movement inside the boot for better control on the slopes.

description

The fs 01 120 is the all-mountain freeski boot designed to achieve flex perfection, power transmission and shock absorption.

The innovative hybrid cabrio / overlap construction combines the best of both worlds: the close fit and edge control of the overlap, and the progressive flex of the 3-piece. Paired with the patent-pending phaenom strap, the fs 01 120 provides rebound, shock absorption and exceptional flex control. The elasticity of the strap generates tangible rebound through your turns, for increased power transmission, turn initiation precision, comfort and predictability.

Designed for customization, the boot comes with three different inserts (flip chips) that allow forward lean angles of 13°, 15°, and 17°.

The sleek all-black design supports restoration and reuse of the boot and its parts. Each element of this product — from panels to buckles to straps and screws — is designed to be repairable and recyclable.

F*cking perfect

"Absolutely amazing boot. I was skeptical at first with the whole liner process but it’s the most comfortable and precise boot I’ve ever worn and the liners make it even better. They’re insanely comfy and the wearability of them makes it so convenient. The boots as a whole feel super comfortable and yet provide the control and feel I’d only get by fully tightening my previous boots until my feet fell asleep."

Superb - but buy it in a shop

"For those who are not sure if you should buy it online, don't do it. I needed about 5x Sessions at the local Boot fitter until it suited my foot. Otherwise, it's a high quality Boot with a lot of customizing options and also a nice insole + liner."

The holy trinity – power, precision and comfort

"I should preface this with the fact that I immediately swapped out the supplied liners (which it looks like a lot of thought and effort have been put into!) for my ZipFit Workhorse liners, so my review only really concerns the shell. The beautiful, glossy black shell is made up of a number of fairly stiff flaps and cuffs that need to be layered over each other in a certain order (watch the skin on your knuckles!) after slipping the liner (often with some effort) into the boot with one’s foot already tightened up in the liner. With some practice this gets somewhat easier, and the reward is a comfortable but snug fit with great heel hold. There is absolutely no need for me to loosen the buckles on the lifts or at the lunch break. The boot remains comfortable all day long. The 102 mm last will be plenty for most skiers, but with my fairly pronounced hallux vulgus, I got it punched out a little bit more, which the technician said was easily and safely done on this boot. The fit at the forefoot is now perfect for me. The performance of the boot is a noticeable step-up compared to my previous Full Tilt Descendant 120s. The control is precise, power is transferred directly to the ski, and there is real punch out of the turns. They perform well for me all conditions (although I’m not a good enough park skier to give any useful feedback there). I can highly recommend this boot."

Impressive package

"I recently got my hands (or feet, rather) on the Phaenom FS 120 Flex ski boots, and I have to say, they’ve exceeded my expectations. From the first run, the booster strap made a noticeable difference in both comfort and control. It provides an incredible locked-in feeling, while also enhancing rebound—perfect for aggressive skiing and maintaining power through turns. The 120 flex strikes a solid balance between stiffness and flexibility, giving me enough control without feeling too rigid. One of the standout features for me is the combination of just two buckles paired with the strap, which makes for a surprisingly quick and easy setup. Despite the minimalist design, it doesn’t compromise precision—everything feels dialed in and incredibly snug without being uncomfortable."

Modern, controlled, cool

"This boot keeps me locked strong while not feeling constrained. It really gets insane performance with the super-booster strap, but it's super comfortable. And - I have to admit - it looks great. I see why some of the pros like Antti, Tormod and Dylan D have been putting it to work."

The ski boot world needed this

"I am so impressed by this boot. When I got the boot I'd never used a step-in liner before. The first couple of times stepping in and out of the shell with the liner still on my foot was a bit weird to get used to, but after a couple of days it became mindless. I love being able to walk around in the liner now. The biggest surprise for me was the downhill performance, even with a 102mm last. The boots are snug on my feet. The heel hold is excellent. And I do not have an especially wide foot. I've gone from 98mm last to 100mm last (Nordicas previously) to now 102mm and I have equal or better performance in this boot with a level of comfort that is on a whole 'nother level. The elastic strap is like a built-in Boost'r Strap, it gives such a nice rebound and flex. I 100% recommend this boot to intermediate to advanced and expert skiers who are seeking an all-mountain boot, for everything from ripping hardpack to trees, moguls... all of it. The ski boot world needed a shake-up, this has performance to match the looks."

Q&A

What is the highest last your boots go up to? My son has a 111 last and I search each year for something that can fit him comfortably and perform.
Hi Michael, Thanks for your question. All phaenom boots have a 102mm last. This is relatively wide for the market, so it would be worth having your son test a pair to see how they fit.
